Aftercare Instructions
Remove the bandage as directed by your artist. Do not remove the bandage until you can properly clean the tattoo with mild soap and warm water. Only use clean hands when washing your tattoo and never use a cloth/sponge or abrasive soap.
Allow your tattoo to completely dry before applying any lotion. You can let it air dry or pat it dry with a clean paper towel. Your tattoo is an open wound and needs to be treated as such.
Use only unscented lotion after your tattoo is dry. Do NOT use medicated ointments or thick, petroleum products. Do NOT apply lotion to a wet tattoo. Less is more! Use the smallest amount of lotion possible.
Follow this routine for the first 2-3 days after removing the bandage. Repeating 2-3 times a day or after doing any task that may have exposed your tattoo to dirt/sweat/etc.
DO NOT scratch your tattoo! A healing tattoo is itchy, lotion can help relieve some of that but we suggest patting the area if you need a fix.
NO swimming, NO baths, NO excessive sweating for two weeks.
If you must work out, wait at least a couple days and then stick to light sessions until the tattoo is healed. Always clean your tattoo immediately after. Gyms are filled with bacteria and you have an open wound, vulnerable to infection.
Tattoos can take 2 weeks or more to heal. All bodies and immune systems are different, so it never hurts to be cautious. If you have concerns about how your tattoo is healing, please reach out.
After your tattoo is healed, we recommend sunscreen to keep your tattoo looking good.
